Location & Places To Visit

Salterns has been our family home for over 30 years and now that the family have dispersed, I welcome sharing our beautiful location with visitors and recommending our favourite haunts.

Birdham Pool with its 18th Century tidal mill is a popular subject for artists and the area is a bird lover's paradise, the area is teaming with waders and visiting migratory birds. Chichester Marina and Yacht Club are only a short stroll away for visiting sailors.

The energetic can benefit from the pure sea air and enjoy some exercise in natural scenery. The unspoilt sandy beach at West Wittering (with use of the family beach hut), is only 3 miles away or you can walk or cycle the Salterns Way which leads past our door.

Play tennis on the family court, walk the South Downs Way or simply watch the world go by with the peaceful drift of the tide: the possibilities are endless. Goodwood and Chichester are a short drive away for entertainment and culture.
